TANDEM = a bicycle designed for two.

TANDEM - is a valuable vehicle to advance in your language learning in partnership. It is also a communicative language learning method, which involves two people from different nationalities and allows them to bring their languages and countries closer.

TANDEM - The fundamental idea is simple and fascinating: "I help you to learn my language, you help me to learn yours, and we learn to understand each other".

Complementary to your language program, TANDEM becomes an integral conversation method, which helps create a willingness to inter-cultural understanding and incorporates the social-cultural background in the learning process.

In order for you to find the right Tandem partner, you fill out a form to tell us about your interests on the first day of your classes.
The second day, right after your classes, you are introduced to your Tandem partner and some tips and examples in order for Tandem to be successful are explained.
After that, you and your Tandem partner agree on the place, time and frequency of your meetings.
In Peru, ACUPARI is the only member of the Tandem Foundation located in Donostia / San Sebastián.

After your Language course, you have the possibility of volunteering in a Peruvian organisation. As a volunteer, your work is a valuable contribution. This experience will provide you a deep insight of the social and cultural reality.

Children hospital - school for blind people - orphanage - hospital - street children project - day care centre - playschool/kindergarten - hotel (on request)

Required specialties:
Physiotherapy- therapeutic pedagogy - logopedics - occupational therapy - handicrafts - psychology and psychotherapy - medicine and nursing - gardening.

General social commitment:
Creative collaborative work, helpfulness, proven sensibility and empathy in the contact with children and young people from disadvantaged groups.

Work period:
Minimum: 1 month

People interested in volunteering receive information with the description of the institutions.
Each application is processed individually, and we try to fulfill all your personal expectations.
Accommodation for the volunteering period can be organized by ACUPARI at reasonable prices.
